Sustainable Data Management in SPP2143

Making research data sustainably findable and usable is a standard of good research data management. To test data entry into the ARIADNE Portal and the display of metadata within it, the DCH of the University of Cologne became a member of the ARIADNE Research Infrastructure in July 2024, representing SPP 2143 Entangled Africa. The FAIR.rdm research data management project is thus taking an important step to make the research data of SPP 2143 findable, searchable, and usable on a common platform in the future.

In preparation for data entry, Lukas Lammers attended a workshop for data partners at the FORTH Institute in Heraklion from June 17 to 21, where the ARIADNE infrastructure is being developed. There, he prepared an initial schema for data mapping of SPP 2143. This will now be actively used in the final phase of the priority program and will enable all projects of the SPP to make the data they generate findable and usable over the course of the program.
