"We have a plan..." Visit of the InterLINK project at the University of Frankfurt
From July 21 – 23, Jana Eger-Karberg (Project 03 – InterLINK) as well as Tim Karberg ( of the research project “El Rum Oasis“, which closely cooperates with the SPP “Entangled Africa”) from the research unit “Ancient Sudan” of the WWU Münster were visiting Frankfurt.
In the context of this meeting, which could finally be held again in presence after two years, on the one hand it was about the handing over of numerous archaeobotanical samples, which will be investigated by Alexa Höhn (SPP project 05 “Cultivated Landscapes”) in the context of the project cooperations within the SPP. This involves the distribution of various useful plants and groves in Late Antiquity, and thus also the modeling of land use strategies.
On the other hand, the technical exchange and the planning of further joint research with the project 04 “The Lake Chad Region as a Crossroads” stood in the focus, where mutual visits of the respective working areas were planned.
